I've received an invitation to Google Wave and will be happy to feed back first impressions. The problem at present is that there's not enough people in my network who are on Google Wave, so it's difficult to get conversations going and take full advantage of the features. I've only dabbled so far, but hope I can spend a bit more time 'playing' in the next few days.

Mike, still waiting for Google wave invite - Google is doing a limited invitations right now - any out there?

Brian, Thanks for chinese proverb on EA. Borard experience does make EAs more successful.

It's not every day that I see an ancient chinese proverb that involves EA. Therefore, I'll share this artitcle.

Has anyone been following the development of the Google Wave collaboration tool? The functionality sounds very nice for what we're trying to do. According to one article "you can also embed waves within web sites or social networking services using Google Wave API's" (see (Five Reasons to Dive into Google Wave - PCWorld). Of course, Google Wave is still being tested but a public release is expected by the end of the year (see Google Wave - CNN).

Agree. I am firm believer of "wiki like" capabilities for advancing collaboration. Confluence wiki is a good choice and there are other open source wiki options as well. We will have to see what tools can be added to extend the PHconnect capabilities.

Steve - I'll talk with the phConnect development team regrading wiki choices and get back in touch. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the response Paul. Are there plans to integrate the Confluence wiki into PHConnect in preference to the Ning wiki (which I believe is the one they are using on GovLoop)? The latter seems to be fairly basic and lacking in some features.
Paul Aneja Comment by Paul Aneja on September 1, 2009 at 4:57pm
Stephen,
You may want to talk to Maime for PHConncet. Just as FYI, I pioneered the use of wiki collaborating document sharing process in Oregon PH IT. Wiki is leveraging open source Confluence Wiki tools. Most of our teams and efforts are now using the collaborative wiki.

Is there someone I can talk to regarding selection of this NING platform for the CoPs, and plans for integrating collaborative tools (esp the wiki)? I have to leave the conference by midday on 2nd Sept, so hoping I get a chance to talk to someone before then.

Thanks
