PHIN Vocabulary and Messaging Community of Practice
October Meeting
Public Health Vocabulary and Messaging Community,
The VM CoP will meet, Tuesday, October 13th at 3:00pm, via webinar. During this meeting, Ted Klein will present and lead a discussion about Object Identifier (OID) . This presentation will include vocabulary and non-vocabulary OID's (Organization, Application, etc..).
An OID is a globally unique string representing an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) identifier in a form that consists only of numbers and dots (e.g., "2.16.840.1.113883.3.1").
For more information about OID's and HL7 OID registry, please visit the HL7 OID registry at http://www.hl7.org/oid/index.cfm
